The Iranian military said early Friday it deployed Arash attack drones against fuel depots and accommodation facilities at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, warning that actions against Iranian interests would threaten regional security and economic stability.

The Iranian army said early Friday that it had carried out drone attacks targeting American military installations at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain and Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. State broadcaster IRIB reported that Arash attack drones struck fuel depots, equipment warehouses, hangars and accommodation facilities used by US forces at Sheikh Isa. The strikes also hit aircraft hangars, a maintenance facility and housing units for American personnel at Al-Azraq, according to the same statement.

Regional security warnings

Bahrain's Interior Ministry issued an alert on the social media platform X shortly before the Iranian announcement, sounding warning sirens and urging citizens to remain calm and seek shelter. The Iranian military warned that "Any action against the legitimate and lawful interests of the Iranian people and the Islamic Republic of Iran will also undermine the security and economic interests of other countries in the region," according to IRIB. No casualties or damage were immediately confirmed by American, Bahraini or Jordanian authorities following the strikes.

Strategic context

The attacks came amid heightened hostilities between Washington and Tehran, with both sides exchanging strikes across the region in recent weeks. Sheikh Isa Air Base hosts the US Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters, while Al-Azraq serves as a strategic logistics hub for American operations in the Levant. US military facilities in the Gulf have faced repeated threats as tensions continue to spiral.
