Trump says Iran 'most serious' in talks but hasn't decided on major strikes

President Donald Trump has said Iran is showing its strongest commitment yet in negotiations with the United States, but he has not decided whether to launch major military strikes against the country. "We're talking to them right now. I think they're getting more and more serious as the days go by," Trump told reporters.

Trump said Iran is "being by far the most serious that we've seen them," but cautioned: "That doesn't mean we get there." Asked whether he had decided to launch major strikes, he replied: "No, I haven't." He warned that the US is "locked and loaded and ready to go" if needed, adding that diplomacy is "the smarter way" while military action is "probably the easier way."

The remarks come amid ongoing exchanges between the US and Iran, which have continued despite a Pakistani-brokered ceasefire agreement signed last month. Trump said his team, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, is involved in the talks, and reiterated: "They cannot have a nuclear weapon."
