President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have held a phone call to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues. Erdoğan invited Mirziyoyev to the COP31 summit in Antalya and expressed hope for a visit to Uzbekistan.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone call on Friday to discuss bilateral relations, regional and global issues, Türkiye's Communications Directorate said. Erdoğan said ties between the two countries were deepening, with a new roadmap established following the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting in January.

Upcoming Summits and Cooperation

Erdoğan expressed hope to maintain the momentum through meetings during a planned visit to Uzbekistan at the earliest opportunity. He also noted that decisions to strengthen the Council of Elders had been adopted at the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in May, and said Türkiye hopes to build on those decisions at the summit in Ankara on October 29-30.

Invitation to COP31

Erdoğan invited Mirziyoyev to the COP31 climate summit in Antalya on November 11-12 and congratulated him on his birthday. The call underscores the growing strategic partnership between the two Turkic nations.
