US aircraft strike Iran missile sites after Hormuz ship attack

CENTCOM confirmed on Friday that US aircraft struck four targets along the Iranian coast and Qeshm island after a cargo vessel was damaged by a drone attack in the Strait of Hormuz, as President Donald Trump warned Tehran against further "foolish violations" of the ceasefire agreement.
The US military's Central Command confirmed on Friday that American aircraft conducted strikes inside Iran, targeting missile and drone storage sites as well as coastal radar facilities along the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Four targets along the Iranian coast bordering the Strait and Qeshm island were struck using six US aircraft, according to a senior US official who spoke to Fox News, in retaliation for an attack on a commercial vessel transiting the waterway.
Trump warns Tehran over 'foolish violation'
US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that Tehran launched at least four one-way attack drones at ships, with American forces intercepting three while one struck a cargo ship causing damage. "You'll find out," he told reporters when asked about a potential response, after describing the incident as a "foolish violation" of the ceasefire agreement.
US Vice President JD Vance later issued a statement on X warning that "violence will be met with violence" regarding the incident. "Iran signed a ceasefire agreement. We have honored it. If they have disagreements about how the MOU is being applied, they can pick up the phone," he wrote.
Maritime authorities document vessel damage
The UK Maritime Trade Operations center reported Thursday that a cargo vessel was hit by an unknown projectile off Oman, damaging the ship's bridge with no casualties reported, while CENTCOM characterized the alleged Iranian action as "dangerous behavior" and said the "unwarranted aggression" clearly violated the ceasefire terms. Iranian state television reported that an explosion was heard in the city of Sirik in Hormozgan Province overlooking the Strait, though no information was disclosed on the source of the blast.
