Majority of Israelis rate Netanyahu's Iran war as failure: Poll

A survey conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem found that 56.4% of Israeli respondents rated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the war against Iran as a failure, with nearly three-quarters rejecting his claims that the conflict eliminated an existential threat.
A survey conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem between June 17 and 20 among 3,644 participants found that 56.4% of respondents rated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the war against Iran as "failure" or "poor," while only 26.5% viewed it positively, according to results published by The Times of Israel. The survey showed that 72.5% of respondents reject Netanyahu's claims that Israel "achieved significant gains" and eliminated an "existential threat," while 87.8% believe the country either failed to achieve its stated objectives or fulfilled only some of them.
Iranian victory perception and political fallout
It found that 92.1% of respondents believe Iran "has won" the war, while 82.9% said the conflict "weakened Israel's long-term security." Netanyahu's support as preferred prime minister dropped from 40.5% in March to 29.4% in June, the poll showed, reflecting deepening public skepticism toward his leadership.
Hezbollah tensions and diplomatic track
A significant 48.2% of respondents backed renewing "major military action" against Hezbollah in Lebanon "even at the risk of a clash with Trump," while 20.9% opposed such a move. The survey comes as US and Iranian officials opened talks Sunday at Switzerland's Burgenstock resort under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to end hostilities on all fronts including Lebanon, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift the US naval blockade on Iran.
