The blast occurred at one of the facilities located in the major industrial zone — a strategic hub for liquefied natural gas and petrochemical production situated roughly 80 kilometers north of Doha.

Civil defense teams immediately responded to the explosion and were handling the situation, the ministry said in a statement. Authorities emphasized that no leak posing a threat to public safety had been recorded following the incident.
