Israeli military forces injured a Palestinian and detained 17 others including a journalist during coordinated dawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, local authorities said, as rights groups document escalating violence against civilians in the territory.

Military raids across territory

Israeli forces injured a Palestinian and detained 17 others including a journalist during coordinated dawn raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, local authorities and media outlets reported.

The Jerusalem Governorate said the injury occurred when soldiers opened fire during a raid on the Qalandia refugee camp, adding that troops held several residents for field interrogation before detaining two men from the area.

Detentions in northern cities

In the northern city of Nablus, Israeli forces detained 13 Palestinians during separate military operations, according to the official Wafa news agency. Mohammed Azem, mayor of Sebastia town, said soldiers rounded up two Palestinians including a journalist, searched homes and damaged vehicles during overnight raids.

Arrests in Bethlehem area

Two additional young men were arrested during a raid in Beit Sahour east of Bethlehem, local sources said, as rights monitors document escalating demolitions and attacks aimed at displacing residents and expanding illegal settlements.

Rising civilian toll

Palestinian officials said Israeli forces and occupiers have killed 1,173 Palestinians, wounded 12,666 others, arrested approximately 23,000 and displaced 33,000 people across the West Bank since October 8, 2023.
