Iran's Revolutionary Guard strikes US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain

Iran's Revolutionary Guard said early Sunday that missile and drone strikes targeted eight US military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain, declaring that any future attacks by the "enemy" would draw a "crushing response" amid warnings that navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz hang in the balance.
Retaliation strikes target US bases
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced early Sunday that its naval and aerospace units conducted coordinated missile and drone strikes against eight US military sites across Kuwait and Bahrain, describing the operation as a direct retaliation for American attacks on Iranian coastal positions that occurred only hours earlier.
In a statement carried by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the force said the strikes occurred between 2 am and 3 am local time, characterizing the assault as a "decisive" operation against "key US military infrastructures" including the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
Tehran warns of 'crushing response'
The Revolutionary Guard said the strikes came after US forces attacked five Iranian coastal positions earlier Sunday under what Tehran described as a pretext of confronting an Iranian operation against a "violating vessel." The force warned that "violating vessels" would face "stronger action than before," adding that any future attacks by the "enemy," regardless of their scale or justification, would draw a "crushing response."
The statement also cautioned that any violation of the ceasefire would immediately halt "all ongoing processes" under the Islamabad memorandum, which the Guard claimed governs navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz. The remarks signaled Tehran's readiness to escalate further as regional tensions continue to threaten commercial shipping through the vital waterway.
Gulf states activate defenses
Kuwait said its air defense systems were responding to "hostile" missile and drone threats, while Bahrain activated public warning sirens and urged residents to seek immediate shelter. The alerts followed reports of explosions in southern Iran, including in Sirik and on Qeshm Island, where Iranian media said projectiles struck a telecommunications tower in Tahrouyi village.
The US military Central Command announced additional strikes against multiple targets in Iran, saying American forces targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites and drone-related facilities following what it described as continued Iranian actions against commercial shipping near the Strait of Hormuz.
