Iran: We will not allow US interference in Hormuz

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has declared that Iran will not permit any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz. During a meeting with a senior Chinese delegation in Tehran, he also warned that Israel is seeking to undermine the Iran-US memorandum of understanding.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has firmly stated that Tehran will not allow any American interference in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking during a meeting with Chinese Vice Chairman He Wei in Tehran on Friday, Qalibaf emphasised that the Islamic Republic remains determined to maintain control over the strategic waterway's management. "I state clearly that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz," he said.
Iran-China coordination and shipping
Qalibaf noted that Iran has ensured the smooth passage of Chinese vessels through the strait and highlighted that Tehran and Muscat have agreed, under Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, to regulate maritime traffic. He stressed that closer political and economic coordination between Tehran and Beijing is crucial to reducing global tensions, especially as Washington continues to pursue unilateral policies worldwide.
Warning on Israeli efforts
The parliament speaker also warned that Israel is "undoubtedly seeking to disrupt the Iran-US memorandum of understanding." However, he expressed confidence that Iran's deterrent power in the region would prevent a renewal of war. He added that Iran will also consult other Persian Gulf littoral states on implementing the strait arrangements.
