Iran denies US technical talks scheduled in Doha this week

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on Monday that no technical working-group meetings with Washington are planned this week in the Qatari capital, refuting US media reports while adding that consultations through mediator countries continue regarding the implementation of recent commitments.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi on Monday dismissed reports that technical working-group talks with the United States would convene this week in Doha, stating that no such meetings have been scheduled while confirming that consultations with Qatar and other mediator countries are ongoing.
Gharibabadi told state news agency IRNA that media reports regarding imminent technical discussions in the Qatari capital "are not confirmed." "Technical meetings of the working groups are not scheduled for this week," he said, adding that the first round of talks will proceed only once conditions are met and agreement is reached on timing and venue.
Memorandum follow-up
The Iranian official said consultations continue through mediator countries regarding the implementation of US commitments under the recently signed memorandum of understanding. "The first round of technical talks within the designated working groups will be held once conditions are met and after agreement is reached on the date and venue," he added.
Diplomatic channels
Diplomatic consultations between Tehran and Washington have been facilitated by Qatar and other regional mediators in recent months. Both sides continue working to establish a framework for technical discussions, though no date has been set for the inaugural working-group session.
