Iran says US interference delaying Hormuz deal with Oman

An informed Iranian source told Sepah News on Wednesday that Washington's interference and threats by President Donald Trump constitute the primary obstacles to reaching a maritime security agreement with Muscat regarding the strategic Strait of Hormuz, warning that Tehran will not sign any deal under the shadow of military coercion.

"The main reason for the delay in the agreement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz is US interference and Trump’s threats," the source told the outlet, adding: "Iran will not reach any agreement under the shadow of threats." The official warned that the pact would remain stalled while Washington maintained its threatening posture.

Ongoing negotiations

The remarks emerged a day after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said talks with Oman were continuing "positively," though he provided no timeline for finalization.
