The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, the United Arab Emirates' official WAM news agency said, citing the energy company. No further details regarding the extent of damage were immediately disclosed.
Iranian Media Account
Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency earlier reported that a vessel believed to be an oil tanker had caught fire in the southern corridor of the strait, citing satellite monitoring. The agency said an oil-spill response and firefighting vessel named ADNOC AR01 had arrived at the scene to manage the aftermath.
