Türkiye beat Bosnia 82-75 to extend winning streak to five

Türkiye extended their winning streak to five games by beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 82-75 in Group C of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers on Thursday. Türkiye started strongly in the first quarter, but Bosnia edged ahead 18-17 by the end of the period. Bosnia controlled the flow in the second quarter, stretching the Turkish defence from the three-point line to lead 39-34 at halftime.
Second-half comeback
Changing their defensive posture to be more aggressive, Türkiye found their rhythm again and retook the lead in the third quarter. Furkan Korkmaz’s three-pointers and Adem Bona’s defence proved decisive as Türkiye entered the final quarter with a 59-57 lead. With the teams neck and neck, the game came down to the final minutes. Luka Garza and Amar Gegić scored 27 and 19 points respectively for Bosnia, but Kenan Sipahi’s critical three-pointer in the final two minutes gave Türkiye a convincing lead, followed by four free throws and a final dunk from Bona to seal the victory.

Türkiye’s perfect record now stands at 5-0, with Alperen Şengün contributing despite foul trouble and Korkmaz finishing with 16 points off the bench. The team will now face Switzerland on Monday in their final group game before advancing to the second round of qualifiers. The win solidifies Türkiye’s position as one of the strongest teams in the group, with momentum building towards the next phase of the competition.
